Louis De Guzman × New Balance

Louis De Guzman's take on the New Balance 574, released through Foot Locker's Collabor-Aid initiative.

The collaboration

Louis De Guzman, the Chicago artist known for reworked pop-culture figures, brought what he calls his 'personal palette' to the New Balance 574. Purple suede sits on the quarters and eye-stays, with baby-blue mudguards around a steel-gray mesh toe box and further blue across the midfoot. The N logos are cut in red leather against textured heel pieces, finished with gray and black suede and eggshell ABZORB midsoles.

The release contributed to Foot Locker's Collabor-Aid, a global program supporting families and children in need.

What Curative did

Curative secured the collaboration and led the business development, then project-managed it end to end. New Balance manufactured the 574, released through Foot Locker’s Collabor-Aid. This is the brand-side of the work: bringing an artist and a global brand together and running the project, while the design stayed the artist’s and the manufacturing stayed New Balance’s.
