Happy Lemon × Persue

Persue’s BunnyKitty world taken into a boba chain: a hand-painted Convoy mural, window takeovers across six San Diego stores, two signature drinks, and a run of blind-box keychains. Curative represents the artist and produced all of it.

An artist’s IP, taken to retail

Curative represents Persue, the Los Angeles artist behind BunnyKitty, one of the longest-running characters in the graffiti-to-designer-toy lineage. Happy Lemon wanted an activation with cultural weight rather than a seasonal decal. Curative sat between the two: bringing the artist and his IP to the table, negotiating the deal, and then producing the whole program so that Persue’s world arrived in the stores fully built rather than merely licensed.

That is the “for brands” door stated plainly. A brand does not have to figure out how to work with an artist, adapt the IP to a physical retail footprint, and manufacture the merchandise. Curative does all of it, with the artist’s trust on one side and the client’s timeline on the other. Here Persue was not only the artist but a co-producer, which is why the credit reads produced by Curative Company and Persue, for Happy Lemon.

The activation

The program worked on several surfaces at once, so a customer met BunnyKitty before, during, and after the drink. A full BunnyKitty mural at the Convoy location turned a building wall into the artwork, Persue’s cast of characters at architectural scale. Inside and across the glass, window wraps and signage carried the world through, so the six stores read as one authored takeover rather than a poster in a window.

Two drinks carried the collaboration onto the menu itself: the BunnyKitty Strawberry Butterfly Pea Dirty Soda and the Rilla Mango Matcha Latte. The activation was drinkable, which is the point of putting art in a beverage brand. A run of blind-box keychains gave the program a takeaway object and a reason to return: three characters from Persue’s world, BunnyKitty, Rilla, and Lemon Boy, with a rare BunnyKitty Lemonhead as the chase. Curative handled the production.

Why it sits in the brands wing

The activation ran from December 12, 2025 to January 22, 2026, across six San Diego stores: Convoy, Eastlake, Westfield UTC, Plaza Bonita, San Marcos, and Carlsbad. It opened on December 13 with a “Sip & Sketch” event at Convoy, where the artwork, the drinks, and the artist met the public in one room.

Happy Lemon shows Curative’s client-facing capability at consumer-retail scale: take an artist’s IP, adapt it across architecture, environment, menu, and merchandise, produce the collectible, and land it in multiple live stores on a holiday deadline. Where COHERE is a single monumental object and Xin Tian Di is a public-plaza spectacle, Happy Lemon is the everyday-retail version of the same competence, repeated six times over.
