For the opening exhibition at Shanghai's bettermeART gallery, Curative procured five internationally known street artists and produced their first showing together in China.
“Import / Export” launched the bettermeART gallery in Shanghai with commissioned work by five street artists from four countries: D*Face (UK), OG Slick (USA), Tristan Eaton (USA), Nychos (Austria), and David Flores (USA). For each of them, it was the first time their work was shown in China.
The show mixed large canvases and prints with sculpture and objects, staged across a raw concrete space with the artists present for the opening and live signing sessions.
bettermeART engaged Curative to procure the artists and the artworks for the opening. Curative used its network to open conversations and negotiate a commissioned piece with each artist, then coordinated project timelines, logistics, and travel ahead of the event.
On site, Curative ran project management and provided translation between the artists, the client, media, and guests.
