A nine-city public art exhibition that turned outdoor LED screens across China into a shared canvas during the pandemic, with Chongqing and Shenzhen among the featured cities.
ART TAKES OVER: Exhibition On-Air 2022 ran from March to April 2022, bringing digital art to the street on massive outdoor LED screens in nine Chinese cities: Beijing, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Wuhan. With physical gatherings limited, the screens carried the show to people where they already were.
Ten artists from China and abroad each contributed work to the giant displays. The roster was Han Rui, Han Yajuan, Lin Jiun-Ting, Luo Dan, Mao Haonan, OG Slick, Persue, Tillavision, Wang Rui and Zhang Zhen.
LMG+ invited Curative to partner on the program and provide the American street artists for it. Curative brought that roster, OG Slick, Persue, and Tillavision among them, into a show otherwise built and run by LMG+ and Phoenix Metropolis Media across the nine cities.
It is a narrower credit than most of the portfolio, and an honest one: Curative supplied and coordinated the American artists, not the exhibition itself.
